Job Title: kdb/q Developer

Corporate Title: Associate

Location: Cary, NC

Overview

Our core trading technology platforms are heavily used across numerous business and technology groups. Our platforms sit on a critical path for many activities such as the Bank's strategic intraday and historical market data service, transaction, and negotiation capture and is a source of close price data and quant analysis. It's heavily used in Regulatory and Risk as a source of observable market data that supports both production application usage and human end-user usage (Quant / Strat / BA). We are looking for a kdb/q Developer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the development and support of our global strategic kdb+/ time-series market data platforms (such as Mercury Tick, Mercury Snap, Neptune, TKaams).

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Create everyday coding in kdb/q
  • Face off to the Business in multiple regions to understand requirements and translate it into design and delivery
  • Work effectively in a small, flat, and regionally distributed multi-skilled team, which supports kdb platforms for our business globally
  • Take end-to-end responsibility for delivery, working with other IT groups to define and deliver proper hardware infrastructure, deploy kdb components, and work with support teams to establish monitoring
  • Be involved in architectural design discussions to help shape the strategic direction of our platforms
  • Collaborate with high-performing teams and professionals throughout the Firm to accomplish common goals



Your Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with kdb development
  • Understanding of fundamental software engineering and computer science principles
  • Knowledge of Java
  • Experience with the financial market data
  • Understanding of kdb architecture and design best practices, understanding of financial services and financial market data
