Basic Qualifications

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 2+ years of job-related experience or a Master's degree. Agile experience preferred.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities for this Position

The Nuclear Security Program provides advanced capabilities for our Navy's Nuclear Strategic deterrent. As a member of this multi-disciplinary team, you will work with the Navy and Industry partners to develop innovate capabilities to carry out a critical national security mission to protect our country.

As a Systems Engineer on this program, you will be responsible for requirements development, system design, integration & test of a Command-and-Control system that integrates multiple sensors and COTS IT devices into an overall networked solution. You will work with a talented group of GD engineers where you can use and grow your skills with IT technologies, Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Agile (SAFe), and DevOps.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Perform requirements analysis, requirements definition, requirements management, functional analysis, performance analysis, system design, detail trade studies, systems integration & test, validation, interface definition studies of subsystem or system elements
  • Create Models and Simulations
  • Perform technical, cost and risk analyses and planning for subsystems and system elements
  • Perform technical project planning for subsystems and system elements
  • Develop and evaluate systems, networks, and information systems to ensure designs meet applicable governmental security specifications
  • Perform installation planning for subsystem and system elements
  • Research and analyze data, such as vendor products, COTS components, GFE/CFE, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
  • Investigate and resolve technical problems during design, test, and installation.



Target salary range: USD $82,476.00/Yr. - USD $87,000.00/Yr. Note: The compensation information listed is a good faith estimate for this position only and is provided pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules. It is estimated based on what a successful Colorado applicant might be paid. It assumes that the successful candidate will be in Colorado or perform the position from Colorado. Similar positions located outside of Colorado will not necessarily receive the same compensation.
