The Position

The Engineering organization’s charter is design and development of a robust, scalable data pipeline consisting of software modules that ingest, analyze, and transform disparate data into actionable, meaningful insights for our customers. Technologies we use to achieve that include AWS (EC2, RDS, S3 etc.), Ansible, Splunk, Git, Airflow, Python and MySQL.  

As a Junior DevOps Engineer you will be responsible for the security, scalability and availability of Claritas Rx’s AWS Cloud solution with a particular focus on supporting the infrastructure. As part of the operations team, you will ensure the infrastructure is patched, correctly sized and appropriately monitored. You will also work closely with the Engineering and Analytics teams to monitor the stack and handle deployments.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with customers and vendors to establish and maintain our business-to-business connections
  • Onboard and offboard Claritas Rx employees' access to various components of our infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot and resolve access issues
  • Support scheduled releases and hotfixes by deploying new code to Pre-Production and Production environments on a weekly cadence
  • Investigate and resolve alerts from Infrastructure monitoring tools
  • Create and maintain relevant documentation around infrastructure processes
  • Design and implement process improvements to improve the efficiency of daily operations

Who You Are

Experience/Education:

  • Demonstrated ability to follow well documented processes and procedures
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic and team-oriented environment
  • A demonstrated history of process improvement
  • Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud services, Relational Databases, Unix Operating Systems, Log monitoring solutions, Incident management processes
  • Prior hands-on experience with a broad array of Infrastructure technologies, such as compute, database, storage
  • Ability to work on multiple requests simultaneously
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field from an accredited university (M.S preferred)

  • AWS EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, IAM, CloudFormation and Backup services
  • Splunk, CloudWatch and AlertLogic log monitoring and alerting
  • Atlassian’s Jira, Confluence and BitBucket products
  • Linux and Windows operating systems
  • Ansible configuration management tools
  • MySQL database
  • Git source control
