Beckman Coulter Life Sciences is looking for a Junior Backend .NET Developer to join the global website team. This role will support the development of Sitecore, beckman.com, debugging and issue remediation, and supporting the development team with system architecture as needed. Responsibilities will include code development, troubleshooting bugs and fixes, requirements gathering, technical design support, deployments between DEV/UAT/PROD environments, maintenance, and assisting internal content editing teams, vendors and consultants.

The Junior Backend .NET Developer reports directly to the Global Website Product Manager and will play an integral part in the future growth of the website and user experience for customers and internal stakeholders. This role will work with multiple teams including marketing, sales, client services and IT. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in web development for a B2B or B2C website.

Responsibilities
  • Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices
  • Integrate data from various back-end services and databases
  • Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on business and/or technical needs
  • Responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling sites
  • Provide assistance in technical documentation scoping for projects that drive channel growth and user experience for ecommerce.
  • Performs user acceptance testing for code deployments and helps to document issues across the website.
  • Monitor network conditions and assist with IT teams to troubleshoot service disruptions for the website.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of industry and enterprise-wide trends, staying up to date on Sitecore, emerging technologies and apply to daily work
  • Participate in web project estimation and integration sessions
  • Create and maintain software documentation


Experience
  • Experience delivering websites and marketing applications with responsive design
  • Proven track record of leading/working on multiple projects as well as interacting with business sponsors and end users.
  • Sitecore Developer Certification for 8.0 or Higher is a plus
  • Sitecore 7.2 and above development experience a plus - including using .NET MVC, Razor templates, Sitecore Pipelines integrations
  • Experience creating flexible and useful CMS Layouts, Object-oriented design, Renderings, Templates and Components
  • Understanding of best practices for scalable global Content Management and Delivery
  • Experience with MV*front end JavaScript frame works
  • Experience with Hedgehog Team Development for Sitecore a plus
  • Working knowledge of Design Patterns and web services/APIs (SOAP, REST etc.)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server.and ability to write SQL Scripts, functions, and procedures
  • 3rd-party .NET components (such as Telerik)
  • Working knowledge of XML/JSON and using 3rd party API's
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript (jQuery) technologies and development a plus
  • Experience with SOLR and/or Coveo a plus
  • Source control systems (GIT, SVN or TFS) a plus
  • Systems administration in Windows and experience with AWS a plus
  • Networking (DNS, TCP/IP)
  • Familiar with integrating Sitecore with third party systems and customizing out-of-the-box APIs
  • Experience with commerce engines, preference with Oracle, Magento, or BigCommerce a plus
  • Experience of implementing Google Analytics code a plus
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM or Marketo a plus
  • Agile project management and time management skills
  • Self-motivated, performance and results driven team player
  • Working knowledge of project management tools, preference with JIRA and Confluence
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
  • Experience interfacing with creative agencies/vendors
  • Ideal experience includes working previously for a manufacturer or distributor in a web developer role


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in field with 4+ years exp. OR Master's degree in field with 2+ years exp.
  • Degree in Information Science / Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics with relevant work experience
  • Development Technologies: APS.Net, C#, MVC, Entity Framework, LINQ, SQL, HTML, JavaScript, JQuery, Ajax, WCF, Web API, Bootstrap
  • Experience with developing web and desktop applications using C#, ASP.NET
  • 2+ years of ASP.NET development experience using C#. Applications based on ASP.NET MVC 3/4/5
  • Databases: MS SQL Server and Oracle
