Job Summary
Amentum is currently seeking a Java Programmer - Microservices to support an IT Managed Services program for the Department of Energy. The overall program includes a 500+ work force performing Enterprise IT support, Service Desk, and Telecommunications support across multiple facilities and locations, for classified and unclassified telecommunications and information technology (IT) systems for National Technology and Engineering Solutions of Sandia (NTESS).
The Java Programmer - Microservices is a part of the R&D Systems Architecture department. This department architects, designs, and develops software systems and for mission programs. To support application end users, there will be frequent interaction with mission customers and key stakeholders throughout Sandia.
As a member of the team, you will:
- Design and implement cloud native infrastructure services
- Unit testing utilizing JUnit
- Frontend testing utilizing Selenium and/or Protractor
- Programming in Java and JavaScript utilizing Angular and Spring Boot frameworks
- Test and debug Java code
- Interact with end users and IT professionals
- Attend daily stand ups
- Develop scripts for automating Docker and Kubernetes
Minimum Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must have a Bachelor's Degree and 10 years of experience OR an Associates Degree and 14 years of experience OR High School Diploma / GED and 18 years of experience.
- Must be able to obtain a TOP SECRET (TS) or DOE Q clearance and maintain it for the life of the contract.
- Full-stack software development experience in Java.
- Experience in Angular and Spring Boot.
- Cloud native infrastructure services (caching, configuration management, message bus, service discovery) with experience in Hashicorp Consul/Vault, Ambassador, Apache Ignite and Splunk.
Preferred Qualifications
- Development of microservices in Java
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience in Mongo
- Experience with different java-based testing tools - JUnit, Selenium and/or Protractor
- Experience working in Agile (Scrum) environment
