Job Description

Core Responsibilities

As an engineer on our team you will collaborate with designers, QA analysts, product managers, and engineers at varying levels of the organization to guide solution design and technical requirements. Most of our engineers' time is dedicated to writing code for all steps in the software development life cycle, but there are many chances to create an impact across the company through innovation programs, an interactive culture, and community outreach.

You must be a great teammate and be able to adapt to changing business and customer demands. The ideal candidate can articulate what they have learned from past engineering experiences, whether it was operating a web service at scale or solving a problem for an audience of one.

The Xfinity Recommendation Platform Team:

  • We value usable and working solutions now over a flawless solution later
  • We value diversity of opinion over group consensus
  • We value being able to pursue a plan everyone can live with over everyone agreeing that the plan is the best one
  • We start from the assumption that someone, somewhere has already figured out a solution to this problem; we value using their results over rediscovering them ourselves
  • We value actively and humbly seeking and appreciating honest feedback over preserving our egos
  • We value building iteratively and elicit feedback over delivering a "finished product"

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3 + years of experience with Java (JAX-RS or Spring Boot).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with writing RESTful API specification and a strong understanding of the HTTP protocol
  • Capability to debug code and triage production issues using system traces/logs
  • Ability to use Command Line Interface for a variety of operations

Connected Living Engineers are passionate about teamwork, developing our skills, and creating awesome experiences for customers. We are fortunate to do what we love, every day. Join us!

Employees at all levels are expected to:

  • Understand our Operating Principles; make them the guidelines for how you do your job.
  • Own the customer experience - think and act in ways that put our customers first, give them seamless digital options at every touchpoint, and make them promoters of our products and services.
  • Know your stuff - be enthusiastic learners, users and advocates of our game-changing technology, products and services, especially our digital tools and experiences.
  • Win as a team - make big things happen by working together and being open to new ideas.
  • Be an active part of the Net Promoter System - a way of working that brings more employee and customer feedback into the company - by joining huddles, making call backs and helping us elevate opportunities to do better for our customers.
  • Drive results and growth.
  • Respect and promote inclusion & diversity.
  • Do what's right for each other, our customers, investors and our communities.
