IT Sys Engineer Principal
Description
We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Systems Engineer to join our team to begin an exciting and challenging career with SAIC. This contract position is part of a geographically dispersed team that supports the Office of the Inspector General at a large agency of the United States government. The team operates within the agency's Office of Information Technology.
Duties:
Performs high-level, day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex operating systems, workstations and servers. Primary responsibilities involve using MECM/SCCM to build and maintain software and update deployments, perform reporting on compliance, maintain MECM system and perform upgrades to it. Ability to configure and troubleshoot all components of an enterprise MECM/SCCM deployment along with evaluating client logs to identify and resolve problems. This role will require application packaging customization using a combination of msi/exe switches, bat files, and PowerShell to achieve specific install requirements.
Duties will include tier 3 troubleshooting of application related support issues that cover a variety of applications used including but not limited to MS Office, MS Teams, Adobe Acrobat, SAS, and CFIS. Incumbent develops and implements new standards, policies and procedures. Incumbent in this job works closely with Network and Systems Analysts to help determine and develop the systems that will be implemented. Additional duties include assisting in other areas so experience with McAfee ePO, O365, Defender, Active Directory, Server Administration, and VMware would be beneficial.

FREEDOM TO ACT:
Work is performed without appreciable direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Completed work is reviewed from a relatively long-term perspective for desired results. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
Qualifications
Required experience and skills:
Bachelor's degree and 5 years of experience or equivalent, Masters 3 years of experience.
Proven working experience with Microsoft MECM/SCCM; Operating System image creation and maintenance, Microsoft server and end user computer OS patching, application packaging and deployment, and application support for Adobe, MS Office, and MS Teams.
Desired experience and skills:
Familiarity with DISA OS STIGs, McAfee ePO, O/M365, Microsoft Defender, Active Directory, Microsoft Server Administration, and VMware.
Clearance:
Must be able to obtain and hold a Public Trust clearance.
Target salary range: $125,001 - $150,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
