Mission Summary
Manage and enhance Motional's end-user experience including desktop software/images, mobile technologies, collaboration tools, and the monitoring, support, and operation of infrastructure solutions including servers, firewalls, and advanced networking.
The Motional Santa Monica office is located in the heart of 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica at 1453 3rd Street. With all the modern amenities for productive work and play, it is steps away from the popular pedestrian outdoor shopping area and Santa Monica beach.
What you'll be doing:
- Manage and enhance Motional's end-user experience including desktop software/images, mobile technologies, collaboration tools, and assist in the monitoring and support and operation of infrastructure including servers, firewalls, and advanced networking.
- Develop and script automation tools to improve the speed, deployment, and consistency of delivery to better meet end user needs
- Responsible for system uptime across our production applications to meet stated targets
- Understand end-user support principles to backup the End User Support team as needed. Manage and update virtual environments
- The ideal candidate will be able to support from the end user to Server room in addition to design and document out systems, processes and procedures to improve the overall end user experience
- Coordinate with IT Security as needed to mitigate risk and resolve security concerns and issues quickly
- Coordinate with a larger global team on processes and overall effort & escalations
- Help to develop technical requirements for new systems (on-premise and in the cloud) with business partners and collaborate with other engineers across IT to help deliver results
What we're looking for:
- 5+ yrs experience with desktop systems (Windows, Mac, & Linux)
3+ yrs experience of deploying and supporting infrastructure technologies including - Vmware
- Cisco and Palo Alto Networking
- Server & Storage infrastructure and operating systems
- Automation and distribution tools to simplify consistent deployments
- Creating and supporting highly available solutions (99.99%)
- Knowledge of IT security practices
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Proven skills in service development, delivery, and operations
- Highly self-motivated with attention to detail
