General Summary:

Performs IT functions such as design, analysis, evaluation, testing, debugging and implementation of applications & programs supporting data center business processes and operations. Analyzes, installs, acquires, modifies and supports software utilities & tools. Plans, conducts and collaborates with others to efficiently and effectively solve business problems with automated systems and processes. Analyzes, designs, acquires and implements projects for global data center & site on/off-boarding, monitoring, alerting & escalations. Contributes to the development, testing, evaluation or design of system process or infrastructure architecture used throughout the IT/Facilities solutions for data centers and site operations.

Minimum Qualifications:• 4+ years of IT-related work experience with a Bachelor's degree.

OR

7+ years of IT-related work experience without a Bachelor's degree.

Physical Requirements:• Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 20 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years in a development role in data center and remote site monitoring and automation

• 3+ years in a leadership role in software development projects/programs.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Position requires excellent collaboration and communication skills working with peers, project leads, and internal teams via email and direct conversation to overcome obstacles and resolve any problems.• Troubleshoots and debugs issues with processes, code, software systems , and/or applications by completing complex root cause analyses, and escalates issues both internally and externally as needed.• Monitors and analyzes overall availability and performance of management software systems systems as well as business processes to peers and partner groups can access and rely on systems and data. Ability to spot trends and act proactively and/or make recommendations for improvement.• Participates in frequent Operation and Project review sessions to communicate status and discuss complex issues while driving to sustainable outcomes.• Serves as a technical lead on a feature or system, collaborates with peers to share workload and maintain focus on priorities both tactical and strategic.

• Identifies technical issues that affect a project or other areas of an overall system and synthesizes issues into an appropriate document for discussion with the appropriate audience (e.g., peers, leads, other team leads, management).• Presents system solution or other technically complex information within and outside of project team.• Mentors other team members to disseminate knowledge about subject matter expertise and latest IT solutions.• Helps team members to determine which work tasks are most important, manages distractions, and deals with setbacks in a timely manner• Leads technical discussions to ensure the right path is followed to project completion.• Actively manages team project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables on multiple simultaneous projects.• Networks with colleagues outside of the system function to gain insight, ideas, and connections.

Level of Responsibility:

• Working independently with little supervision.• Taking responsibility for own work and making decisions that are moderate in impact; errors may have financial impact or effect on projects, operations, or customer relationships; errors may require involvement beyond immediate work group to correct.• Using verbal and written communication skills to convey information that may be complex to others who may have limited knowledge of the subject in question. Role may require basic negotiation and influence, cooperation, tact, and diplomacy, etc.• Having a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to provide input on key decisions).• Using deductive and inductive problem solving; multiple approaches may be taken/necessary to solve the problem; often information is missing or incomplete; intermediate data analysis/interpretation skills may be required.• Exercising substantial creativity to innovate new processes, procedures, or work products within guidelines or to achieve established objectives, while ensuring peer and stakeholder consensus.

Pay range:

$115,500.00 - $173,500.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
