About the Role 

• As one of our Intermediate Software Development Engineers, you will be part of a world class development team who builds valuable software tools that drive community, connection and belonging. Our  Intermediate Software Development Engineers use their skills and passion to collaboratively build great software tools while contributing to a vibrant development culture.  
• Our team is constantly challenged with scaling, enhancing, and maintaining modern world-class engagement experiences through our mobile apps.
• As well as being surrounded by other dedicated and talented software engineers and teams, we provide an environment that promotes open discussion about approaches to solve complex problems, and encourages engineers to learn new technologies and techniques.
• You will be working closely with Product and Design to ensure smooth product deliveries and we pride ourselves in our engineering and product relationship.

About You

As one of our Intermediate Software Development Engineers, you will; be a member of a cross-functional team responsible for delivering solutions that drive user outcomes and contributing to a cohesive experience across the product suite. You will work directly with Product Managers, Designers and QAs on a daily basis; influencing others to ensure the best outcomes for our users and our product. 

A qualified candidate will typically have: 

• 3+ years in software development experience
• Highly proficient in JavaScript and/or TypeScript
• Practical commercial experience with NodeJS
• Experience using Docker and NoSQL would be a plus
• Practical commercial experience with the React ecosystem (React Native is a plus)
• Familiarity with both API web service design and API client consumption (preferably GraphQL and Apollo)
• Accessibility, internationalisation and experience working with design systems is a plus
• Experience in building systems that run on Amazon Web Services or other cloud providers
• Continuous integration / Continuous deployment practices and tooling
• A pragmatic approach to delivering modular, scalable code
• A happy, positive-minded and kind person
• Have a personal commitment to continuously learn and improve
