The Opportunity

Delaware North is hiring for an Application Integration Architect to join our Data Products and Services team in Buffalo, New York.

The Data Products and Services team is a rapidly growing team that enables Delaware North's vision of using data as differentiator in the hospitality industry. Our work is the foundation of company initiatives to automate business processes, gather insights, and make informed decisions. Our team uses software and solutions to aggregate, process, catalog, and distribute large data sets throughout Delaware North's global organization, client base, and partners. These foundational services empower Delaware North's mobile, data science, analytical and business intelligence, and operational systems. The main priorities of the Application Integration Architect include working with internal and external customers and partners to define functional and interface specifications, evaluate various technology options, design integration architecture and standards, prototyping, supporting implementation, and testing integrated solutions.

While this role is posted in New York, we will consider remote workers willing to work Eastern Time Zone hours.

Responsibilities

  • Working with multiple vendors to align on application integration architecture supporting business unit needs
  • Developing and maintaining integration patterns and reference architectures, and guiding teams on appropriate usage
  • Working across a variety of third-party applications - POS, Mobile, Loyalty, Property Management Systems, etc.
  • Interfacing with clients, vendors, and internal users on understanding of the data flow and usage between applications
  • Leading group design and architecture sessions
  • Provide thought leadership and architectural expertise to aid engineering teams in the implementation of robust and scalable architectures
  • Authoring documentation for standard operating procedures, knowledge base articles, etc.
  • Developing integration tests to validate solution architecture
  • Providing guidance and troubleshooting support for complex production integration incidents

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar STEM field preferred
  • Expert level knowledge on enterprise integration architecture and patterns
  • Maintain and develop secure integration architectures, ensuring that securing data is at the forefront of every architecture decision
  • Experience with API protocols and schemes (SOAP, REST); including micro-services concepts
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with business users and vendors to address and solve development issues
  • Ability to effectively triage and track issues through to resolution
  • Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills
  • Technical specification and use case (story) documentation
  • Familiarity with data mapping and transformation techniques



PREFERRED:

  • Working knowledge of data structures and formats such as JSON and XML
  • Familiarity with cloud computing services, analysis & implementation experience (preferably related to Amazon Web Services)
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies



OTHER:

  • Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Must be able to work, focus, and be productive remotely and work Eastern Time zone hours
  • Able to work, focus, and be productive in a virtual, remote environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience designing and optimizing integration solutions across all common integration styles - batch, micro-batch, API, streaming, messaging, etc.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in related IT role
