E*TRADE from Morgan Stanley is looking for a Systems Engineering Manager to help lead the team of Senior Engineers who are responsible for the Infrastructure Services that power the E*TRADE business lines.

Purpose:

The ideal candidate will be an Engineering leader who thrives on delivering world-class service and has a proven history of managing a highly skilled Engineering team.

Responsibilities:

  • Set priorities, delegate assignments and manage schedules for multiple parallel business projects, while ensuring a primary focus on customer needs.
  • Identify and resolve issues, handle escalation and communicate to Management and stake holders in a timely manner.
  • Manage the team by creating an internal environment of teamwork, sharing, and enthusiasm; be a role model, a mentor and a coach.
  • Provides a clear vision of goals and expectations for the assigned people in the department and provide them with the tools and training required to meet those expectations.
  • Nurture and support a strong Engineering culture: customer focus, technology, high quality implementations, self-motivated innovation and problem-solving.
  • Responsible for all elements of supervision including selection, salary planning, training, recognition and performance appraisals.



Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience managing a Technical/Engineering team.
  • Expert understanding of what it means to run a large-scale and diverse Infrastructure Services footprint.
  • Working knowledge of continuous delivery concepts: continuous integration and deployment.
  • Experience in technologies such as Puppet and Git/Subversion.
  • Positive, enthusiastic attitude with great teamwork and interpersonal skills, reflecting the ability to interact with cross department groups.
  • Ability to work under pressure and solve problems using an analytical approach; decisive, fast moving, quick and constructive resolutions of conflicts.
  • Experienced in performing technical planning, system integration, documentation, verification and validation for applications.
