Infrastructure Engineer II (Mainframe Storage Management)
Job Description:
The Infrastructure Engineer II (Mainframe Storage Management) position will span systems engineering activities supporting Mainframe (System z) Storage projects with varying degrees of complexity - includes system design, build, development, implementation, maintenance, operations and client support across infrastructure and software.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ability to work under minimal supervision from more seasoned consultants or managers - includes support of senior personnel and project managers on technical projects; may assist and help train junior analysts - includes guiding and providing technical peer reviews.
- Ability to work on complex problems where analysis of situation or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors; exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results.
- This position will participate in 24x7 on-call rotation.
Required Skills:
- Minimum 8-10 years engineering experience supporting a complex Mainframe Storage (System z) environment.
= Exposure to sysplex data sharing.
- Familiar with fundamental problem and dump analysis utilizing diagnostic tools.
- Proficient in MS Office Tools - Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
- Able to communicate effectively with peers, management and other technical support associates in a diverse global environment.
- Must be a highly motivated self starter able to work with minimal supervision.
Desired Skills:
- Project management skills.
- Assembler, CLIST, and REXX knowledge.
- Conceptual understanding of Mainframe Operations.
