Our location in Irving, TX, currently has an opportunity for Human Factors Engineer

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Provide human factor engineering support to influence the design of next generation and on-market product lines. Responsibilities will cover, but not limited to, the design of hardware and software, and labeling, for medical products to produce safe, reliable, easy-to-use/intuitive, and easy-to-maintain medical products that are compelling for our customers. Tasks will include developing and executing usability testing, performing task and error analysis, integrating human factors engineering principles into system design, and conducting customer research (contextual inquiry, workflow analysis, and developing user needs).

Responsibilities:

  • Writes and executes moderately complex system related (i.e., hardware, software, labeling and/or assays) protocols, analyzes data, writes data summaries in accordance with governing procedures.
  • Facilitate use error analysis
  • Develop and execute formative and summative usability protocols
  • Conduct user research
  • Applies quantitative methods, analyzes data, evaluates results, forms conclusions and provides/implements improvements.



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
  • 2-5 years of related work experience with a good understanding of specified functional area.



Preferred

  • Master's or PhD in human factors, ergonomics, or related fields
  • Will consider 2+ years relevant internship/work experience for master's degree graduates and 2+ years of relvent research experience for PhD graduates
  • Excellent collaboration and organization skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • General knowledge of user interface design, human perception, cognition, anthropometry, biomechanics, human behavior, and physiology
  • Experience in usability and testing methodology, use scenario development, contextual inquiry, conducting usability evaluations, and questionnaire/survey development
