Meet the team:

The Argo Lidar team is a fast-paced, highly cross-functional team responsible for building, testing, delivering, and supporting Argo’s internal lidar development. Our team has a decade of history in delivering Geiger-mode products for other industries, and we’re optimizing these technologies for automotive-oriented mass production. Our design is technically novel and offers exceptional performance we believe is essential to scaling the deployment of driverless cars. Within the Argo Lidar team, the characterization and calibration team works to develop processes to understand and optimize lidar performance in collaboration with various design and simulation teams.

What you’ll do: 

  • Execute lidar performance, reliability, and regression testing and work with team members to analyze results
  • Design and build lidar targets, test fixtures, and automation tools
  • Troubleshoot test errors and work with hardware, software, and firmware teams to root cause malfunctions
  • Support manufacturing and verification activities 
  • Write scripts to automate data collection and analyze large, complex data sets

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics or a related field
  • Experience in testing and troubleshooting of electrical or optical systems
  • Experience in design and fabrication of test fixtures 
  • Ability and willingness to do hands-on work in development of new test setups and procedures
  • Python programming experience
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to recognize subtle errors
  • Eagerness to learn new tools and develop new skills

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with reliability or manufacturing testing
  • Experience with lidar, camera or other sensor testing
  • Familiarity with Linux environments
  • Open to travel to remote offices, test facilities, and manufacturing partners
