Graphics Core Performance Verification Engineer

The Role:

This position is in the Graphics Core Performance verification team! You will be working with software, architecture, and design leads to understand all various scenarios of the product parameters, such as performance, features, and schedule. You will work on GPU projects Graphics Core Level real game performance analysis for both legacy and newly crafted features.

The Person:

We are looking for engineers who are motivated to challenge the status quo and keen on making products better. Who have proven collaboration and interpersonal skills; who can complete light North America travel. A person with strong analytical reasoning, problem-solving skills and attention to detail who can relay technical details in an illustrative writing style.

Job Responsibilities :

  • Bridge the gaps between the Design Team and Performance Verification Team
  • Lead Game Bottleneck Based Performance Verification, Evaluation and Analysis for new chip
  • In pre-silicon:
    • Study new architecture, write test plan and performance tests for new graphics chips
    • Analyze workload in real game and write performance test for game performance evaluation
    • Debug function and performance issue in RTL
    • Evaluate the chip performance of real game in RTL
    • Analyze the performance issue in architecture and give solution
    • Design new architecture to improve performance
      In post-silicon:
    • Work with SW/HW team to analyze the performance of game bottleneck based test
    • Optimize chip setting for better performance
    • Correlate the post-silicon performance and pre-silicon performance for game test
  • Continuous team and self-growth
    • Innovation/patent
    • Initiate and Lead Research on GPU architect
    • Initiate Advanced Performance/Power Algorithms
    • Write performance analysis tools
    • GPGPU performance verification


Preferred Experience:

  • Strong skills with C/C++
  • Experience/Background on Computing/Graphics performance verification/analysis
  • Experience/Background on Graphics performance modeling is a plus
  • Experience with OpenGL/OpenCL/D3D programming is a plus
  • Strong communication skill and cross-site teamwork is desired
  • Strong problem-solving skill is desired
  • Passion to work efficient and improve the current methodology


Education:

  • Bachelor Degree with 10+ years' experience / Master Degree with 7+ years' experience / PHD with 5+ years' experience
