GPU Performance Analyst - 108362
The Role :
Do you love games and enjoy learning how they work? If so, and you are a recent college graduate, this may be the job for you. Join the Graphics IP Architecture team to study how games render and discuss the findings with the rest of the team. These findings influence the decisions made in future GPU designs. Some people reverse engineer games for fun and post their findings on the internet. You'll get paid to do it.
The Person :
As a GPU Performance Analyst, you must have a passion for games, graphics, and computer architecture. The ideal candidate has experience reverse engineering games though direct experience isn't required.
Key Responsibilities:• Analyze a game frame and break it down into render passes to calculate what occupies most of the frame time• Further study the render passes, looking for criteria that may affect future graphics architectures• Work with software, hardware, and architecture implementation teams to identify issues and improve performance
Preferred Experience:• Experience with one or more real time graphics APIs (Direct3D/DirectX, Vulkan, etc)• An understanding of basic game engine rendering techniques like deferred rendering and ray tracing• An interest and ability to learn new tools (Renderdoc, PIX, RGP, GPUView, etc)• Programming experience• Good presentation skills• An understanding of performance analysis techniques• Knowledge of computer architecture
Academic Credentials: Bachelors, Masters, PhD (CS, EE, CE)
