Job Description:

The Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities of actionable insight-rich MIS with a focus on report development and report automation.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct tasks related to feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, Agile Development & Sprint planning.
  • Ensure that reporting and business intelligence Operational Reports are working, updated timely, and down time is communicated and minimized.
  • Consult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues and recommend advanced programming solutions and MIS
  • Manage and execute on projects to implement new functionality and changes to reporting and BI tools - document business requirements, document testing requirements, assist in testing, and train end users
  • Create sophisticated Power BI and Tableau Dashboards leveraging SQL and Hadoop/HIVE data structures as a data source
  • Create and run queries for use in reporting and data analysis linking disparate data sources across Teradata, SQL Server, Big Data (Hadoop), and Oracle platforms both on an ad-hoc basis as well as automated jobs utilizing ETL tools such as SSIS, Autosys, Talend, and/or Sqoop
  • Provide reporting and BI subject matter expertise, support, and training to the Transaction Services teams to enhance their skills and achieve, over time, increased self-sufficiency on their side in using basic and intermediate reporting and BI capabilities
  • Maintain and publish documentation of data and BI tools (user guides, models, metadata, etc.)
  • Metric development for Transaction Services reports
  • Provide continuous improvement through the automation/streamlining of report production



Qualifications / Requirements:

  • The candidate should be a highly versatile individual with great attention to detail and dedication to high quality work
  • 5 - 8 years of programming/software development of operational dashboard/MIS and/or analysis leveraging technologies including but not limited to Tableau, Power BI, and SSRS
  • Experience in managing and implementing successful projects utilizing Agile Scrum methodology, preferably within the JIRA software
  • Experience leveraging and working with various structured and unstructured data sets for aggregation to support reporting and dashboard product delivery
  • Experience with Python (PySpark), SQL, Hadoop, and HIVE is highly desired
  • Experience with report creation (including designing executive-level reports and dashboards) with an emphasis on actionable insights is required.
  • Working knowledge of consulting/project management techniques/methods such as Citi Lean, Six Sigma, etc.
  • Experience with development tools like Visual Studio and Bit Bucket is highly desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience



This position may be able to sit at any Citi U.S. Operations Site.
