Job Description

GHD has an opening for a Geologist / Engineer/ Scientist at our Nashville, Tennessee office with 3-5 years of experience in the environmental consulting world. We are seeking a dynamic person to aid in evaluating overall project execution strategy currently in use by our client and work to align processes for ongoing multi-discipline capital projects that are in development/funding stages.

The successful candidate will be required to:
• Perform a variety of duties for groundwater and remediation projects to include but not limited to: investigation, remediation and monitoring of environmental projects.
• Plan and implement environmental field work such as monitoring well installation, groundwater monitoring, due diligence, and compliance assessments
• Prepare routine correspondence, proposals, technical reports, work plans, permit applications, and standardized documents and work plans for internal and client review
• Oversight of contractors and field staff
• Participating in sampling events for groundwater and soil
• Preparation of technical correspondence, project proposals, technical reports, work plans, and project specifications including cost estimates

Skills, Competencies, Qualifications:
• BS or MS in Geology, Engineering, Environmental Science, or equivalent with an interest in site investigation and remediation
• Strong problem solving abilities and aptitude
• Ability to present technical information, both written and orally, in a concise and professional manner
• Ability to effectively communicate with other technical professionals, clients, and regulatory officials is a must
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office a plus (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Positive attitude, very strong interpersonal skills
• Willingness to travel (80% office, 20% field)
• Self-starter, flexible team player, willing/able to work on a wide variety of tasks
• OHSA 40-hour HAZWOPER training considered an asset
