Job Purpose:
Caterpillar is seeking a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Engineer for the newly formed GCP Platform Services team within Global Information Services. In this role, the incumbent will work alongside architects and business partners to execute a foundational build-out of GCP, with specific focus on security, privacy and compliance activities. You will work closely with internal cloud and hosting teams, external service providers, and internal business teams driving advancement in our technology capabilities.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Establishing a secure Google Cloud Platform foundation with defined controls and baselines;
- Providing consulting on best practices for Google Cloud Platform;
- Deploying or integrating cloud technologies based on requirements gathered from customers;
- Assisting customers with documentation, training and usability efforts.
Required experience
- 3+ years of public cloud experience within an Enterprise environment
- 2+ years of experience working with Google Cloud Identity Platform (or equivalent AWS or Azure experience) in an environment that enforced roles based access controls and least-privilege access.
- Experience with data warehousing technologies, such as BigQuery or Snowflake.
- Associate-Level Cloud Certification (GCP, AWS, Azure)
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
- Experience standing up a new cloud platform/services
- Experience working in an Agile methodology
- Experience with Azure DevOps
