Gearbox Software is looking for a full-time programmer capable and driven to handle a wide array of technically challenging tasks. Applicants should be interested in understanding existing engine and game systems, implementing new game features, and have a strong passion for problem solving. A background in creating and maintaining game engines or technical gameplay systems is a strong plus.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and enhance existing gameplay and engine systems.
• Work with the Lead Game Programmers and Design Team to design and architect major gameplay systems.
• Work in concert with design and other disciplines to make our products excellent

Qualifications:

• 2+ years experience in professional software development
• Experience on a shipped PC/console title
• Strong programming generalist with solid code architecture skills
• Strong modern C++ coding and design experience
• Excellent written, verbal and communication skills
• Experience with version control systems (Perforce, Git)
• Excellent, creative problem solving abilities
• Enthusiasm and initiative

Bonus Points For:

• Familiarity with Unreal Engine 4+
• File format or data transmission design experience
• User-Interface design and implementation skills
