WHY WE NEED YOU


As a Full Stack Web Engineering Lead working on the Digital Platforms team, you will create engaging web experiences that drive successful business outcomes through our expanding web channels, serve as the technical leader for Hydrow’s eCommerce development and establish close partnerships with our digital marketing team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for driving and maintaining modern development practices for internal and partner delivery teams working on our headless digital experience stack. The below milestones represent the outcomes you will drive in our fast-paced startup environment.


You’re excited about this opportunity because you will lead and mentor a team experiencing hypergrowth, work with leading edge e-commerce web technologies (headless/serverless) architecture, edge computing, motion UI) to design and build beautiful immersive, lightning fast ecommerce experiences

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH


  • First Thirty Days


  • Familiarize yourself with Hydrow’s digital channels, frameworks, tools and technical landscape including backend platforms and integrations
  • Build strong relationships with leaders and stakeholders in the Marketing and Digital Platforms teams
  • Drive technical design, direction and execution of development projects
  • Establish yourself as a credible thought leader in modern web technology
  • Join in on regular planning sessions and status meetings with partner delivery teams to better understand our delivery model

  • First Three Months


  • Collaborate with our design team, product owners, architects and developers across platform and integration teams to define best-fit solutions for driving the digital customer experience
  • Oversee customer experience and page performance metrics, and make recommendations to optimize stability, page performance, conversion and positive customer experiences
  • Drive prioritization and delivery of key digital initiatives, demonstrating strong architectural principles with a shared sense of ownership of the experience product backlog

  • First Six Months


  • Take ownership of Hydrow’s ecommerce development
  • Grow and demonstrate hands-on leadership of the team that launches additional features and experiences on the web
  • Establish design standards and define the approach for maintaining internal design workflows with our design team, from inception through to component development and dynamic catalogs such as style and component guides
  • Build a cohesive planning and experimentation strategy for A/B tests and campaigns, from inception through to execution and continuous optimization

WHO YOU ARE


  • Technical Chops:


  • Solid experience with Node, React, Next.js and other hybrid frameworks
  • Knowledgeable about serverless environments and implementations
  • Experience with data structures and design patterns
  • Confidence in designing and developing microservices
  • Practical experience with personalization and split testing design and coordination
  • An eye for web performance and understating of core web vitals
  • A mindset for designing for accessibility, internationalization and localization
  • A solutions mindset: you are not afraid to go down the rabbit hole and come back with clear answers
  • Clear understanding about how the internet works, latency and TTFB
  • Experience writing clear technical documents

  • Technology Passion: You love to code. You have a natural curiosity and drive to learn new tech and keep up with trends in frontend architecture, which will inform the team’s strategic technical / architectural decision making.


    Project Management: You have job-related experience with planning, prioritizing, and keeping project goals on time and on budget while bringing others along; specifically experience working on agile cross-functional projects with a variety of stakeholders.


    Flexibility/Adaptability: Can work effectively as a sole contributor, team member or leader - wearing multiple hats. Adjusts quickly to changing priorities and conditions. Copes effectively with complexity and change, while maintaining organization and control. Ability to juggle a range of tasks.
