Job Responsibilities

You will be joining a focused, high-performing team that builds modern cloud applications using open-source technology. As a full stack developer you will become involved in all phases of the software lifecycle from requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, monitoring, and operation of services on our global network.

If you are intrigued by the thought of designing modern services to optimize our global fleet of satellites, we need someone with the energy, drive, and curiosity to help realize our goals.

Requirements

• B.S./M.S. in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent work experience

• 2 + years Software Development / DevOps experience

• Experience in mainstream languages such as Java, Python, Go, or C#

• Knowledge of design patterns and UML

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

• Humility, pragmatism, and the ability to work in a team environment

• Participation in an on-call rotation for production services

Preferences

• Experience with a functional programming language such as Clojure

• Familiarity with JVM based tools and languages

• Experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines and monitoring dashboards

• Knowledge of Cloud Platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud

• Data modeling experience

• Data analytics experience

At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. For United States-based jobs only: The pay range for this position is $114800 to $192150 annually; however, base pay may vary within this range depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional cash or stock incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
