Role Value Proposition:
Are you a full stack engineer interested in the design and coding of complex problems? Do you have the mindset to work in a DevOps world? Do you have a passion for interfacing with business teams and system designers to design, code, test and implement application programs?
Within MetLife's Investments Technology division, this Full Stack Engineer role is responsible for the design, development and implementation of applications following Agile lifecycle methodology. The candidate will work with investment securities and structured products systems and is expected to have experience in developing end to end technical solutions to solve complex business problems
Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts analysis of organizational needs and goals for the development and implementation of application systems.
  • Responsible for detailed technical design and development of applications using existing and emerging technology platforms.
  • Ability to interact with business partners and other organizations internal and external to MetLife
  • Agile Sprint Planning - estimation, user story breakdown, user story review and feedback
  • Building automated unit and functional test scripts, fix any defects found in QA and UAT testing
  • Monitors operating efficiency of existing application systems.
  • Motivate and drive innovation within the team


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:

  • Bachelor's degree required with major in related field preferred (Computer Science, Engineering, MIS/CIS, etc.)
  • 5+ years' experience in Software Development and strong technical experience with building enterprise scale in a hybrid cloud (Azure) model
  • 5+ years of development with .NET, C#, SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS in a distributed and Azure environment
  • Understanding of release code management and a CI/CD pipeline
  • Agile methodology
  • Ability to contribute to a culture of innovation, collaboration, and partnership with a willingness to proactively share knowledge and advocate for a changing organization.


Preferred:

  • Experience with investments, securities, or accounting field
  • Azure DevOps experience - GIT, SonarCube, MSTest
  • Excellent communication skills including proactively provide appropriate level insights, collaborate with individuals to become a trusted partner
  • Knowledge of SAFe
