Company Overview

LoanWell is an automated loan origination and portfolio management solution for community lenders - banks, credit unions, CDFIs, loan funds, and foundations. We've built the "Squarespace for Lenders", a white labelled platform with end-to-end functionality for application intake, origination, task management, underwriting, closing, servicing, and reporting. LoanWell automates the back office so the community lenders can do what they do best - fund our local small businesses and economies.

We are a mission-driven FinTech and a Google for Startups Company, helping increase access to capital for those typically left out of the financial system and improve access to affordable capital for the small businesses that power our local and national economies. This position will be remote during State mandated COVID-19 "Work From Home" restrictions and following that, from LoanWell's office out of American Underground - a Google Tech Hub in the startup hub of downtown Durham, NC.

The Position

We are looking for an experienced JavaScript developer (React.js, Redux, NodeJS, etc), who prides themselves on being a problem-solver and jack of all trades. Our platform is white-labeled and multi-tenant, so a big part of your role will be leveraging our templating engine and survey logic to create, maintain, and troubleshoot user interfaces that vary from customer to customer. You will ensure that these components and the overall application are robust and easy to maintain. A substantial part of this role is working directly with our Customer Experience department to ensure that our client's technical needs are met in a timely manner as it relates to their configuration or data needs. You will coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure, including third-party API Integrations and backend work in NodeJS. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality product is important. Our engineering team is made up of full stack engineers, and we utilize the AWS ecosystem of tools to a great degree: AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, and S3. This role will work with these services daily, so experience with the AWS platform is a must have. Lastly, this role is for someone who can drive a project from start to finish with little oversight. We expect this person to be curious, always seeking to grow and learn, and to think ahead of what's currently on their plate. This is a great opportunity to join a fast-growing team of engineers building some of the best technology in the community lending space. Join us and help us create the "Squarespace for Lenders".
