Our Java Development Immersive course is a life-changing educational experience where our students learn the skills and mindsets to take on new careers as developers. We are looking for a lead instructor with strong experience to play a key role on our growing instructional team.

We deliver more than just skills training, and are looking for teachers who share our vision for a community of lifelong learners pursuing work that they love. As a full-time teacher for our flagship full-time Java development program, you will join our Enterprise team to:

• Teach eight hours a day, five days a week, for 10 to 12 weeks during immersive cohort (remote)
• Teach workshops and part-time programs as needed (remote and in-person).
• Commit sufficient time each week for working on curriculum and class preparation.
• Maintain and update baseline curriculum and work with Learning Experience Architects and Product teams to build out new curriculum.
• Work closely with co-instructors, instructional associates and teaching assistants to provide students with meaningful and prompt feedback on their progress.
• Work alongside GA staff and teaching team to best meet the needs of your students.
• Guide students through development of a stellar final project that will showcase their abilities to hiring managers.
• Facilitate a dynamic and collaborative classroom community.
• Inspire students to persevere through the challenges of solving user experience design problems.
• Promote diversity, equity and inclusion in the classroom and in all interactions.
• Some travel may be required.
• Perform other duties supporting Enterprise instruction as assigned by your manager.

Skills and Qualifications

• You are the person that your colleagues naturally gravitate to when they are trying to figure something out.
• You have formal and/or informal teaching experience and are eager to shape the skills, minds, and careers of the newest generation of web developers.
• You have worked in a client facing environment
• You have at least 2+ years of experience working on a software development team.
• You have working experience in both front-end and back-end development, and are fluent in:
• Java, Java Applets, Web Programming Skills
• AJAX, Apache, CXF web servers, routing, JSON
• Full-stack Java (strong Java highly preferred)
• Python, Django, Ruby (on Rails)
• SQL JOINS, SQL databases and ORMS, Spring, MVC
• TDD and unit/integration testing using JUnit
• NoSQL (we generally cover MongoDB and Redis)
• Deploying to Spring Cloud and AWS
• Bootstrapping and quickly prototyping with JHipster

The anticipated compensation range for the full duration of this course in the US market is $4,000- $4,500 bi-weekly for duration of the program.
