FPGA Design and Verification Engineer I
HPR is seeking FPGA Design and Verification Engineers to join our award-winning FinTech company and advance our state-of-the-art, high-performance computing and electronic trading technology.

As an FPGA Design and Verification Engineer at HPR, you will build upon your strong academic and professional experience to design state-of-the-art, high-performance FPGA networking systems. HPR has built the lowest latency hardware-based risk management product in the industry. As a member of our close-knit team, you will assist with building and designing 10-Gigabit networking FPGA systems.
Basic Qualifications
- 0-2 years of relevant experience; entry-level
- Relevant experience in a professional or academic environment, demonstrating strong engineering skills
- Understanding of FPGA or ASIC process flow, including exposure to Xilinx, Altera or Synopsys toolsets
- Previous experience working with at least one of the following languages: Verilog, VHDL or System Verilog for Synthesis and/or Verification
- Knowledge of high-speed serializer and deserializer (SerDes) concepts
- Experience with industry standard serial protocols (I2C, SPI, etc.)
- Strong technical skills, with an interest in expanding FPGA Design knowledge
- Knowledge of network socket programming and protocols (TCP/IP, switch configuration, routing)
- Proficiency working in a Linux environment
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Education Requirements
- BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related
- Successful completion of course(s) related to Real-Time Digital Signal Processing, Digital Circuits, Digital Logic and Computer Organization, and/or Real-Time Embedded Systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Linux Kernel Programming
- Proficiency with Verilog strongly preferred
