Job DescriptionResponsible for leading the charge to drive technology strategy and technical capabilities for an Application ecosystem associated with the Discover Corporate Services Technology unit. Leverage deep understanding of business processes and technical building blocks to design application architecture that balances business and customer needs with technical non-functional requirements for resiliency, security and efficiency. Partners with application engineers to ensure the application ecosystem is engineered according to architecture vision and continuously evolve the architecture and application to meet changing customer and business needs.
Responsibilities
Independently oversees the design process for an application and innovate unique solution patterns for that application
Demonstrates a deep understanding of business processes and technical building blocks to help develop product vision and strategy with Product Owners
Trains others in and out of your department in solution design patterns
Actively researches innovative solutions and ways to build business capabilities
Design and develop solutions to application, system administration, and network issues.
Perform systems management and integration functions.
Contribute to defining the continued Finance Modernization efforts across Finance systems
Create system documentation and identify areas for simplification, cost reduction, reduced support, and increased business capabilities.
Partner with Product Teams
Communicate with staff and clients to understand specific system requirements.
Verify the stability, interoperability, portability, security, and scalability of system architecture.
Advise on project costs, design concepts, and design changes.
Minimum Qualifications
At a minimum, here’s what we need from you:
Bachelors – Computer Science or related
10+ Years - Software Development, Software Engineering, Technical Architecture or related
Internal applicants only: technical proficiency rating of expert on the Dreyfus architecture scale
Preferred Qualifications
Bonus Points If You Have:
Experience related to finance systems architecture and design.
Application architectural experience related to SaaS solutions.
External applicants will be required to perform a technical interview.
