The Freemium R&D team oversees the entire user journey on Spotify and ensures we engage with people in innovative ways, every step of the way. Our team grows Spotify’s audience by finding future listeners around the world and delivering the right value to them, at the right time. With research, product development, product design, engineering, and marketing all collaborating in one organization, we’re able to quickly create meaningful features and services for millions of people around the world, resulting in joyful, long-lasting relationships with Spotify.

We believe that by thinking holistically and acting at the intersection of product, marketing and branding we’ll be able to bring scale, efficiency, and differentiation to Spotify’s growth strategy.

Our objective is to delight our fans with a differentiated experience that will drive engagement and loyalty for Spotify while maximizing our audience’s influence to recruit new users.

The Edison Group in the Growth Opportunities Mission is the experimental growth team within Spotify. We work on taking a high potential idea that can reach new audiences, running a deep-dive exploration, and building and testing it with real users; through A/B testing we take data-informed decisions to connect artists and fans.

The DICE product area works to build unique experiences that enable people to connect around our content, with the goal to drive brand differentiation and user growth. The team that you would join has been responsible for creating delightful experiences around anticipated launches.

Above all, your work will impact the way the world experiences audio content.

What you'll do:

  • You will work closely with product, insights, and design to uncover the next growth opportunity around curator and artist to fan connections
  • You will build and run experiments to iterate on new and existing products while delivering many of our user-facing features to over 380+ million users
  • You will deliver growth by building unique features while running A/B testing experiments to accurately measure results
  • You will be proficient in iOS and Android development to help the product area deliver its most impactful features

Who you are:

  • You have strong fundamentals in computer science and previous experience building products at scale
  • You have an intermediate to sophisticated understanding of Swift and Kotlin and ReactiveX concepts, as well as tools associated with iOS and Android development
  • You have a quality approach, delivering high-quality products and supporting others to maintain a high standard
  • You keep UI/UX on top of your mind (an eye for design, interactivity, usability, and accessibility), performance and have a familiarity with system design
  • You are comfortable working collaboratively on a cross-functional team, working project-based, and also driving delivery on small to medium-sized initiatives
  • You enjoy learning as well as teaching others and are passionate about your work, striving towards the goals of the team and, ultimately, the Spotify mission -- “giving a million creative artists the opportunity to live off their art and billions of fans the opportunity to enjoy and be inspired by it"

Where you'll be:

  • We are a distributed workforce enabling our band members to find a work mode that is best for them!
  • Where in the world? For this role, it can be within the Americas region in which we have a work location
  • Prefer to work in an office environment? Prefer to work from home instead? Not a problem! We have plenty of options for your working preferences. Find more information about our Work From Anywhere options here.
