Department OverviewThe Motorola Solutions Electrical Engineering team, located in Schaumburg Il., specializes in the design and development of world class digital solutions for the Mission Critical Communications market including Public Safety. The Electrical Engineering development team develops state of the art Digital, RF, Mechanical and Power Supply solutions to meet their customer’s needs.
Job Description
New development and support of Digital Controllers using Microprocessors, Memory, FPGAs and communication interfaces such as Ethernet and USB
Analog circuitry development including audio circuitry, codec interfacing, audio gain and power amplifier design
Circuit simulation of Electrical designs and utilizing the latest test equipment for circuit analysis and certification
Automated test setup and execution using Python scripting
Utilize test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DC bench power supplies, multi-meters, signal generators to perform circuit testing and certification to ensure compliance to design requirements
Develop intellectual property for the corporation
Desired Skills:
Designing circuitry utilizing Microprocessors, memories, and peripheral interfaces such as Ethernet switches and USB HUBs
Conduct component interface timing and specification analysis to ensure compliance to vendor component specifications
Design of audio circuits, including amplifiers, filters, codecs. Measurement of audio performance
Knowledge or experience in DC power regulation and distribution, power sequencing
As part of the design work, use of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DC bench supplies, multi-meters, signal generators etc. is required
Knowledge or experience with development tools such as circuit simulators (Digital Timing simulators, Modelsim ect)
Experience with Schematic capture tools, Cadence is a plus
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or another engineering field
