This program is the first step in our People Empowerment Program for Information Technology program, which exists to engage, energize, and encourage all Information and Digital Solutions employees. Through these programs, you will establish relationships outside of your current business area that will help you deliver in your current role and explore future opportunities.

At Lilly we offer many roles that utilize various technical capabilities across a wide range of business areas. This role is part of Global Infrastructure IDS, specifically the Enterprise DevOps, Automation & Tools Team. Through positive collaboration, this team provides technology solutions to enable Lilly to meet its business productivity targets using established and emerging business automation technologies. The team, driven by enterprise business needs, supports the required people, processes, and culture transformations through innovative processes to accelerate the development of automations. Based on prior skills, you will have the chance to work in key business areas using many of the capabilities outlined below:

  • Business & Technology Integration - Understand business needs and identify technical solutions that generate business outcomes
  • Modern Architecture - Utilize a network of interconnected components covering applications, services, data, and infrastructure
  • Customer Experience Design - Deliver integrated experiences for all our consumers so that they work seamlessly together in the context of the person using them
  • Business Process Automation - Find opportunities for automation and configure software or bots to execute repeatable tasks reducing errors and increasing efficiency
  • Quality and Validation - Perform testing and deliver documentation ensuring the solution functions as expected and successfully meets the business process requirements
  • Development Operations - Manage the methods and tools facilitating communication, collaboration, and integration between development, operations, and quality assurance



Responsibilities

The role of the Enterprise DevOps, Automation & Tools team is to enable our functional/business facing IT teams to deploy consistent solutions in an autonomous and self-service manor, whilst ensuring the highest level of security and quality. This includes continuous improvement and innovation-driven processes to accelerate application development across IT and enabling business transformation.

As a Technologist on the team, you will develop technical skills and business process knowledge to assist in the delivery of technology solutions providing value for our patients. Professionals in Information and Digital Solutions (IDS) careers come from a variety of backgrounds, bringing an assortment of knowledge and skills to support everything from research to marketing to global infrastructure.

As a Lilly Technologist, you will:

  • Learn various business area processes and assist in the delivery of solutions to support those processes
  • Learn various technologies used by the IDS area to deliver solutions
  • Respond to customer questions using your business and technical knowledge
  • Work across multiple projects, in priority order, allocating your time to meet deadlines
  • Engage in multiple projects and programs in your area



Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or relevant information technology program



OR

  • High School Diploma/GED with work experience or academic exposure to computer science, programming, data bases, and/or user interface development
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position

    • Github
    • Kubernetes
    • Containers
