What does an outstanding Enterprise Architect do?

In this role, we are looking for an energetic, seasoned professional with excellent executive presence, solid visioning, and strategic capabilities. Strong business acumen, execution capability and well-honed relationship management skills are vital. You should have the gravitas, maturity, and the credibility to be accepted at the senior-most levels within industry. Your collaborative mindset will be able to transform and provide guidance on how to grow the business. You will build trusting and sustainable client relationships and will ensure we design and implement solutions with a One Fiserv mindset and the client's total experience in mind.

This position plays a critical role in designing solutions for a highly secure proprietary payments platform/system within the Government Solutions business unit. Responsibilities include working on complex systems and project issues while interacting with senior IT management and a demanding client.

You can look forward to:

  • Working with development teams to provide estimates on tasks with complete timeline of project delivery
  • Engaging with senior management to develop technology strategy and drive implementation of the architecture roadmap
  • Participating in broader areas of application development, infrastructure, security, deployment, unit and integration testing
  • Understanding desired business outcomes desired by customer and translate these to requirements for the solution, and recommend potential options
  • Owning the overall solution and ensuring all components of a solution fit well, function and perform as expected, including availability, performance, and security
  • Effectively articulate the solution to both internal stakeholders and customers


Basic qualifications for consideration:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of software development experience
  • 2+ years as Enterprise Architect preferred.
  • Must be a US Citizen or current Green Card holder
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies within a cloud environment, payments technologies,
  • Strong communication skills - with a focus on the ability to articulate complex solutions to internal stakeholders and the customerBroad based and in-depth knowledge of complex technologies, tools, methodologies, within the fintech industry.
  • Strong understanding of how technology relates to business, market and industry and applies knowledge to support the needs of critical systems and projects
  • Demonstrated leadership experience
  • Expertise with multiple languages and tools such as Java / JavaScript, CSS / HTML, Spring, Maven, GitHub
  • Expertise with various databases Oracle/DB2/SQL/JDBC
  • Knowledge of Microservices frameworks
  • Understanding of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google)
  • Proficient understanding in how to develop an efficient and sustainable solution based on service-oriented-architecture


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with leading development teams to implement and deliver solutions
  • Familiarity with Cassandra
  • Familiarity with Hadoop
  • Familiarity with networking / firewalls
