POSITION SUMMARY:

The Enterprise Architect for Infrastructure is a senior contribution who works to drive technology innovations, to facilitate technology integration, to maintain knowledge of various technologies and their interdependencies all with security at the forefront. The Enterprise Architect for Infrastructure partners with various groups to design and sustain technology roadmaps in the best interest of Milliman and is to be a critical stakeholder in efforts to implement IT solutions. The Enterprise Architect for Infrastructure collaborates to create problem statements and communicates the shared vision to move forward. This position reports to the Director of Infrastructure & Operations, and partners with all of IT leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Identify the right tools to regularly transform Milliman's IT environment
• Promote and encourage simple yet secure and effective solutions
• Work across the organization to determine needs and understand pain points
• Security is strategically encompassed in any new technology/service offering
• Build trusted relationships with business and IT colleagues to drive strategic options for the future of Milliman's IT environment
• Develop and maintain relationships with Milliman's key enterprise IT Vendors (i.e. - Microsoft, AWS, CDW, Verizon, Enabling, etc.)
• Adopt cloud-based and automation solutions as the first principle
• Bring strategic and tactical perspectives to technology programs/projects
• Ensure that Milliman leverages our Vendor Agreement benefits to their fullest potential
• Be a trusted and an expert advisor to Milliman IT leadership to sustain, enhance and transform end-user and infrastructure services

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• BS in Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field.
• The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience working as an Architect; focusing on design and integration.
• The ideal candidate must have previous experience working in a cloud environment as a major stakeholder.
• Must have experience with contract and vendor negotiations
• Must have the ability to effectively prioritize work in a highly decentralized and heterogeneous work environment.
• Must have exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication, analytical, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills to translate opportunities and problems to colleagues of all levels.
• Must have demonstrated complex thinking, strategizing, and impeccable judgment.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
