Job Description

Engineering Test Engineer ll conducts product testing and verification. Test Engineer ll completes data collection activities of household products, related equipment, and component systems. The position fabricates prototype components and test fixtures testing and performs installations and repairs of test equipment and components when necessary. Test Engineer ll reads, interprets, and breaks down test procedures for NPI and VE/CE to properly test products to meet regulatory and company standards.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Conducts tests of new components, assemblies and systems based on test criteria as established by policies and procedures or written test plans; maintains accurate records of test results and reports results to appropriate development and testing group.
  • Conducts various performance tests of the company's product in accordance with test criteria established by policies and procedures or written test plans and maintains accurate records of test results and reports results to the development and testing group.
  • Conducts various comparison tests of competitive products and components in accordance with test criteria established by policies and procedures or written test plans; maintains accurate records of test results and reports results to the development and testing group.
  • Prepares prototypes of components assemblies and systems of either new or current products as directed by policies and procedures or written test plans or work requests. Ensures that the prototypes meet the established specifications.
  • Operates required machinery and equipment in a safe manner following established safety rules, maintains a neat and clean work area, follows established tool and instrument control procedures, and reports any unsafe acts or conditions to his or her immediate supervisor.
  • Performs inspections and installation of parts and components on test cars; maintains accurate records of the installation of these parts and the collection of test data.
  • Builds test fixtures to carry out various needs associated with testing the components in a manner that will be accelerated in terms of time and that will correlate with actual field use conditions.
  • Communicate with engineers to illustrate difficulties in test procedures and work to reduce/right size requirements to meet all Regulatory and Company Standards.
  • Familiar with Jama/Contour an other task tracking databases like Monday/Trello.
  • Schedule and create testing plans based on testing procedures in order to meet product goals and deadlines for requested


YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelors/Associate technical degree in electrical engineering, technology or related field.
  • Experience in testing processes; experience using equipment such as a multimeter, oscilloscope and fatigue analysis equipment; experience with test techniques related to residential and combustion products
  • Hands on Testing experience required
