The Large Power Systems Division is looking for an Engineer Specialist to accelerate our development of advanced power systems focusing on H2 PEM fuel cells. In this role, you will be responsible to perform system analysis and develop engineering solutions to fuel cells used in a wide range of commercial applications. Applications may include mobile construction equipment, mining, and stationary electric power. The candidate filling this position will enable the delivery of sustainable, carbon free, solutions to our customers around the world through the continued development of and fuel cell power systems. You will provide technical leadership that will shape the future of Caterpillar's advanced power systems product offerings.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop validation plans for stack and BOP of PEM H2 fuel cells
  • Develop system level FMEAs and lead the DVP&R for fuel cells
  • Protect Caterpillar's intellectual property


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited curriculum
  • Industry experience with PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) fuel cells
  • 13+ years of relevant engineering work experience
  • Strong communication skills - Oral and written complemented by the ability to develop/deliver technical presentations


Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Master's degree (or higher) in Engineering from an accredited curriculum
  • Prior experience with hydrogen delivery systems
  • Prior experience with balance of plant (BOP) for H2 PEM fuel cells


Additional Information:

  • This position is located Mossville, IL.
  • Up to 25% Travel likely.
