Industrial Power Systems Division - Large (IPSD-L) Engines Electrification team currently has an opening for an Engineering Project Team Leader. This position serves as the Engineering Project Team Leader to deliver integrated power solutions for our Caterpillar Machine groups and Industrial applications.
Within this role you will work closely with the Caterpillar Machine, Industrial Power Systems Division, and Advanced Power Systems engineering teams to deliver power system integration projects. You will also be responsible for managing technical requirements and installation integration through the New Product Introduction (NPI) processes. This is a diverse role which will require an ability to work and collaborate across cultures, time zones, and roles globally. Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Caterpillar Machine groups, Advanced Power Systems, and IPSD NPI team to develop and ensure alignment on customer requirements and timelines.
- Responsible for power system selection and completion of projects on time & cost through NPI process.
- Management of Application & Installation (A&I) requirements with the customer, leading to A&I sign off ahead of machine production start.
- Power system specification support through product life cycle, managing changes through new option requests.
- Provide Cat Machine Voice of the Customer to help develop new power system products and drive customer focused product design & development.
- Support customer collaboration events such as product development workshops.
- Ensure successful NPI resolution of technical integration issues.
- Support Continuous Product Improvements (CPI) adding knowledge on machine installations.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum.
- 6+ years of relevant work experience.
- Previous technical team leadership - Experience with machine integration, engine & powertrain integration, electrical systems, simulation, and or controls.
- Experience with mechanical and electrical design and analysis tools.
Top Candidates will also have:
- Experience or coursework with battery electric and or fuel cell electric power systems.
- Proven success in NPI and CPI.
- Strong analytical skills with examples of developing solutions to engineering problems.
- Demonstrated customer focus with examples of addressing customer concerns with a sense of urgency.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
This position may require 10% travel.
