YOUR MISSION

As Engineering Manager on the Community Team,  you will grow our business by managing and owning our newest engineering space in our Community pillar and help us expand globally. 

Our belief is simple: MURAL’s Community is one of our most important missions to serve our customers. Your role as an Engineering Manager makes that a reality. You’re responsible for not only managing the work of the engineering team, but also helping MURAL to build a robust experience for our customers in the MURAL Community space. This is a new team for our Community Pillar, and as such you will be an integral part of building the culture of engineering in our pillar. We strive to create autonomous engineering teams who are excited and engaged about the work they do every day. In this role, you will report directly to the Director of Engineering, Community and: 

  • Manage a team of full-stack engineers, including hiring, onboarding, and career development
  • Help us create a culture of engineering where engineers can do their best work, have fun, and meet our business needs, by developing a culture of safety and autonomy.
  • Be responsible for the planning and delivery of engineering projects, including communicating status updates to necessary stakeholders.
  • Understand the importance of the Community space, and how engineering can help grow that space for the future.
  • Comfortable with the agile practice, and understand how to utilize tools and frameworks to help the team execute
  • Work closely with Product Management & Design to deliver business value for our Playmakers and community at large.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product, and design on how to meet business objectives, while also maintaining technical sustainability.

YOUR PROFILE

The top candidate will have the following skills:

  • 2+ years experience in managing a high-performing engineering team
  • Experience with managing in a hyper-growth environment
  • A passion to build engineers and engineering culture. A drive to watch your team’s work have direct impact on the business. 
  • Ability to create a working environment where people enjoy showing up every day.
  • A love of mentoring and coaching engineers to help them level up their careers, and create technical best practices for the team.
  • A willingness to manage through changing priorities 
  • Excellent command of English, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently from a remote location
