We are seeking an Engineering Manager to guide the growth and delivery of Supply Chain Transportation analytics within the Nordstrom Analytics Platform (NAP). The Transportation team is critical to our ability to capture “where is my inventory” from Supplier to Inbound and within Nordstrom. The signals are captured as business events across multiple systems and build out NAP components that drive near real-time decision making. The team develops analytical objects, profiles, and semantic layer for analytics to build Inbound Visibility and accurately measure transit and cycle time performance on international and domestic transit routes, as well as in-network routes. Our manager needs to have a balance of technical leadership and people management skills that empowers the team to deliver compelling features. The ideal candidate is passionate about using data to understand our customer’s behavior and measure employee to customer engagement rate. In this position, you will have the opportunity to further develop your skills in data science and deep learning. You can impact how Nordstrom inventory operates.

The Transportation telemetry capability within the Nordstrom Analytic Platform and its technical evolution

The development of both canonical and integrated data objects from event-based data ingestion pipelines

Developing and fostering a healthy and collaborative culture for your team that embodies both industry best practices and Nordstrom values

Growing and developing an incredible team of talented and motivated engineers with high expectations around individual ownership and impact

Driving the roadmap and technical vision for the team, collaborate with product groups and partner teams to deliver value to our customers

Influencing key decisions on architecture and implementation of scalable, reliable, and cost-effective engineering solutions

Being the bar raiser, pushing the limit on how solutions are designed and built, how systems are operated, and how we support our engineers to deliver better experiences for our customers

You own this if you have...

B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science or comparable experience

Experience (2+ years) managing and leading a team of junior and senior engineers to achieve impactful results

Demonstrable experience owning and operating business critical systems servicing internal and external customers

Deep experience in development, are comfortable working in code and skilled at explaining and advocating for new technologies and solutions.

Possess relevant experience with machine learning and data science concepts

Experience in Data Streaming services, Event Driven Architecture AWS, Kafka, Java, Spark, Kubernetes, Python, Avro and data modeling is a big plus

This range may vary for candidates hired to work in locations other than Colorado.

Minimum = $94,300/annually

Maximum = $155,700/annually
