What You Will Do 

A technical leader and mentor for the development team who focusses on the team’s success and technical product improvements.  

How You Will Spend Your Days

  • Help train and onboard new team members 
  • Manage and mentor existing team members 
  • Provide / facilitate code review for high risk changes 
  • Help coordinate & facilitate team meetings (standups, kickoffs, retrospectives) 
  • Remove / resolve blocking issues for team 
  • Track team KPIs (eg; velocity, defect rates) and work to improve KPI
  • Develop, test, and contribute improvements to applicatio
  • Help to triage and debug escalated issues
  • Active involvement in architectural planning & improvement 
  • Track, coordinate, and help prioritize work within the software development lifecycle 
  • Seek out and advocate for reduction of technical debt, refactoring opportunities, performance optimizations, re-architecting opportunities 
  • Continue to improve systems, processes and documentation for the team  

What You Bring to this Role

  • 3-5 years experience developing and maintaining a modern SaaS application.  
  • Experience with modern frameworks, technology, coding practices (Larvel/Lumen php, VueJS, microservices, UI components, SCSS, etc)  
  • 1+ years leading a team of software developers  
  • Experience with test driven development, unit testing, automated testing, etc.  
  • Experience with AWS is a plus  
  • Relational & non-relational databases experience is a plus  
  • Strong organization skills  
  • Strong ability to listen and discuss current challenges & opportunities with customers and  
  • Ability to translate product requirements into technical requiremnets  
  • Provide ability to manage engineering team to meet key milestones while achieving quality and usability requirements.  
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.  
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, statistics, economics, psychology, physics, or similar field. Advanced degree preferred.  
  • Team player with demonstrated communication skills. Comfortable leading meetings and presenting in front of groups of colleagues, partners or customers.  
  • Experience working as engineering manager / leader for SaaS product offerings.  
  • You relish the opportunity to meet with customers and prospects to gather requirements and introduce features.  
  • Proven ability to thrive under tight deadlines while successfully juggling a multitude of projects simultaneously.  
  • Extreme level of energy, highly self-motivated, and a passion for success.  
  • Experience with Agile methodologies is required.  
  • Effective listener that can get to the root of customer problems/needs.  

Compensation for this position includes an annual base salary between $130,000 and $150,000, and participation in the Founder’s Pool program.
