Job DescriptionAs an Engineering Manager in the Supply Chain Test organization, you will ensure quality delivery of enterprise impacting projects that span our supply chain technology teams and help foster a culture of operational excellence. You will lead a growing test team in using the latest technology to streamline and evolve testing as part of our Supply Chain technology evolution. You will be part of a team of dedicated leaders who support our engineering teams, plan, and lead complex enterprise efforts. You will also guide the evolution of our test community of practice.

The ideal candidate will have a distinguished background in testing in the Supply Chain domain, strong business acumen, and a passion for ensuring the reliability of systems/processes. The candidate should be self-directed, a critical thinker, a creative problem solver, and a committed team player. Candidate should have a drive for continuous process improvement and be able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional business/technical teams to solve problems and implement solutions.

What you’ll do: 

Understand the requirements of major enterprise initiatives, and how they impact supply chain technology

Develop a strategic roadmap for test automation in supply chain technology

Lead a talented group of QA and automation engineers who are responsible for ensuring quality for Nordstrom’s entire Supply Chain technology ecosystem.

Play a key role in building a test automation framework to improve the speed and coverage of regression testing throughout Nordstrom’s supply chain network. 

Drive the entire test automation software development lifecycle: requirements definition through specification, design, quality assurance, implementation, integration, launch, and support. 

Verify software and hardware releases from an array of 3rd-party vendors and ensure end-to-end viability of major feature releases throughout Nordstrom Supply Chain Technology.

Validate warehouse process flows from yard management through receiving, routing, storage and fulfillment.

Hire capable and motivated talent that can deliver swiftly and predictably, adjusting in an agile fashion to deliver and verify solutions aligned with business needs.

Create training opportunities for team to learn the latest technologies and methodologies.

Ensure team has the tools, resources, and information they need to be successful.

You are comfortable discussing software architecture and leveraging data to influence decisions.

You have a proven understanding of the fundamentals of agile processes, deep knowledge of the software development lifecycle, and experience to draw from that helps you build towards a future state while making smart tradeoffs to meet current objectives.

You own this if you have… 

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering 

5+ years of hands-on professional experience in delivering quality software

2+ years leading teams

Proven track record of ensuring the quality of complex systems, including planning and execution of functional, performance, and load tests.

Experience with state-of-the-art testing methodology and tools

Deep experience with supply chain warehouse processes and material handling equipment

Experience with dev-ops best practices, CI/CD, alerting, monitoring, A/B testing and 24/7 production support.

Experience with agile software development, such as SCRUM or Kanban.

Experience with public cloud technologies, proficiency with AWS a plus.

Working knowledge of Kafka streaming technologies and Kubernetes is a plus
