The Sales Engineering Product Area at Spotify is based within the broader Financial Engineering Mission. We are looking for an Engineering Manager for our growing Sales Engineering team in New York. This powerhouse team is accountable for delivering technology projects and production support to Advertising Sales, Marketing, and other go-to-market (GTM) functions! This role, as part of Sales Engineering, will partner with five other Product Areas to accelerate Spotify's growth and performance.


We own an extensive portfolio of capabilities built on Force.com and native Salesforce platforms to support our Global GTM teams, who deliver Spotify's advertising revenue.


As Engineering Manager of Order Management and CRM ecosystem within Sales Engineering, you will be responsible for facilitating learning, excellence and delivery the strategy and product roadmap of our existing order management system, CloudSense, as Spotify’s business lines grow and diversify. You will build a high performing team, and work in close partnership day-to-day with the squad’s Product Manager, peer engineering managers, team of Salesforce.com engineers, Admins, SDETs and backend engineers to identify and implement areas of automation, and other opportunities to streamline the booking process. You will work to drive strategic improvements in the Order Management System. 

What You'll Do:

  • Work with and mentor your engineering team in collaborative, lead-by-example fashion, encouraging career and personal growth
  • Facilitate collaboration with other engineers, product managers and engineering managers to solve interesting and challenging problems across our platform
  • Own system design, architecture and technical aspects of entire projects, feature sets and modules without needing daily oversight.
  • Advocate for and support better development practices (CI/CD, automation testing, operational efficiency, etc.)
  • Actively participate in and manage all phases of development from design to post-deployment issue resolution
  • Build and maintain accurate project schedules and achievements, as well as drive tasks to completion
  • Ensure your team meets deadlines and launch dates through an effective sprint planning process and daily standups
  • Lead your team’s overall delivery: Focus on high quality, high-velocity feature delivery, maintaining the balance between maximizing business impact and minimizing technical debt
  • Advocate and advance modern, agile software development practices in your team.

Who You Are:

  • You have 8+ years of software engineering experience, and 2+ years managing engineering teams
  • Experienced in leading, developing, growing, coaching and mentoring software development teams delivering stable, maintainable and scalable software
  • You are knowledgeable and passionate about software development and understand the roles and responsibilities of a Delivery Lead
  • You follow modern engineering practices and ideally contribute to the software development community
  • You will have significant previous experience in Salesforce, Force.com , and their ecosystem delivering high-quality engineering solutions with hands-on APEX development, API development, and Integration development
  • You have a good understanding of development practices across client and backend platforms, quality and testing best practices and frameworks
  • You have solid development experience in more than one tier (data, backend, frontend etc.) - you can perform peer code reviews and architectural reviews, as well as ship code on your own.
  • You understand agile principles and their intrinsic benefits and have worked in an agile development environment, preferably well versed with JIRA
  • You have experience facilitating delivery of large scale initiatives involving more than one teams or technologies
  • You have excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with team members across all functions of the company
  • You have a persistent/determined work ethic and a willingness to try anything and everything
  • Thrive on solving complex problems in an iterative fashion, delivering frequent tactical wins while making progress towards longer term strategic goals.

  • Working hours? We operate within the Eastern Standard time zone for collaboration and ask that all be located that time zone.
