About the Role
Our team focuses on motivating Drivers to bring their best selves to work & to stay on Uber by providing an unmatched loyalty & recognition platform that recognizes them for their commitment, quality of service, and rewards them, both on and off the road.
You will be leading a team of talented engineers working on improving Recognition, Feedback and Quality of drivers. The Tipping & Feedback platform has put more than a billion dollars in our Drivers' pockets last year alone and has helped Uber deflect support ticket costs and provide additional safety through deep integration of feedback tags. Tipping & Feedback Platform is the backbone that provides a unified platform for all business verticals at Uber to develop their tips, aggregates, ratings and feedbacks into their product( Eats, Freight, eMobility etc...)
The core metrics platform aggregates Driver and Rider metrics that are foundational to several product features and also provides a flexible way to add new metrics for real time aggregation.
Lastly, Profiles platform power key user experiences for both Rider, Driver and Couriers. We want to turn this high traffic UI into a surface that celebrates accomplishments and powers insights. In 2021, we would like to give drivers visibility into their driving habits, how they compare against others, and how they can improve.
What You'll Do
• We are looking for someone with a passion for architecting, building and scaling highly-available, high-demand systems that support millions of users every day.• Solve some of the most complex distributed computing challenges and help us build and grow & scale this platform.• Take the larger vision or challenge and distill it down with the leadership team into strategies and plans including trade-offs required to realize the vision.• Provide technical leadership and vision in designing, implementing, testing and rolling out the next generations of our platforms.• This is a unique opportunity for an experienced engineer who is collaborative, has a healthy sense of curiosity and acts with responsibility to join Uber, work with talented people across the board and help improve our next generation fintech platforms and scaling it to the next level.
Basic Qualifications
• Strong management and team development skills - ability to set roadmap and goals for a team and every one of its members, delegate intelligently, mentor engineers, deliver frequent and honest feedback, help team members grow in their careers, and deliver results.• Good interpersonal skills, deep technical ability, and track record of successful execution.• Experienced in team building, interviewing and hiring senior and junior engineers to grow the team.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience designing and implementing highly scalable, robust, and fault-tolerant services• Ability to decompose sophisticated business problems into clean, extensible, performant services and systems• Proven experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams• Full-stack engineering experience.
