Job Overview

The Industrial and Commercial Transportation Business provides rugged interconnect solutions specifically designed for Truck, Bus, Agriculture, Construction and Recreational Vehicles.

We are seeking a manager to lead the engineering team for our Data Connectivity product line located in Winston-Salem, NC.

Job Responsibilities

Requirements and Qualifications

Responsibilities• Act as global technical leader for Data Connectivity engineering including ensuring solutions are mechanically and electrically robust, best practice is followed, and design reuse is leveraged• Maintain a deep understanding of Data Connectivity applications and market trends including the assessment of competitive and emerging technologies• Actively collaborate with Product Managers to develop and evolve product strategies and development roadmaps• Own the technology roadmap and ensure that it enables future market success• Identify engineering investments needed to meet growth and earnings forecasts• Drive a culture of engineering excellence and manage competency, technical skill mix, and continuous development of staff• Ensure tight integration and cooperation of engineering with other internal teams such as Manufacturing, Quality, Product Management, Project Management, Sales, and Finance• Coordinate the deployment of resources to best address dynamic priorities• Implement new engineering initiatives• Ensure full project process compliance for tasks such as test planning and DFMEA completion• Travel as required to production facilities and customers

What your background should look like:
• BS in Engineering and 7+ years engineering management experience• Experience in leading new product development engineering• Knowledge of Commercial Vehicle or Automotive terminal and connector products• Experience with terminal and connector requirements & testing• Understanding of connector manufacturing processes including stamping, plating, molding, and assembly• Knowledge of Transportation industry standard quality processes such as PPAP• Familiarity with data transmission protocols such as CAN, 100 & 1000BASE-T1, MIPI, etc.• Familiarity with Coaxial and twisted pair transmission mediums• Understanding of high frequency signal integrity topics such as Insertion and Return Loss, Mode Conversion, Cross Talk and Cross Conversion• Experience with design for rugged environments including sealing and vibration resistance
