What you'll do

Cloudflare helps build the future of the Internet. We started Cloudflare to solve one half of every IT organization's challenge: how do you ensure the resources and infrastructure that you expose to the Internet are safe from attack, fast, and reliable. We saw that the world was moving away from hardware and software to solve these problems and instead wanted a scalable service that would work around the world.

To deliver that, we built one of the world's largest networks. Today our network spans more than 250 cities worldwide and is within milliseconds of nearly everyone connected to the Internet. We have built the capacity to stand up to nation-state scale cyberattacks and a threat intelligence system powered by the immense amount of Internet traffic that we see.

We are now expanding Cloudflare’s product offerings to solve the other half of every IT organization's challenge: ensuring the people and teams within an organization can access the tools they need to do their jobs and are safe from malware and other online threats. 

To do that, we released Cloudflare for Teams, a Zero Trust platform built on Cloudflare’s network to secure users, devices, and data in organizations of any size. Cloudflare for Teams consists of multiple products that deliver a comprehensive solution. Those products include:

  • Cloudflare Access, built to replace VPNs and protect internally-managed applications
  • Cloudflare Tunnel, the best way to connect your infrastructure to Cloudflare in a secure way
  • Cloudflare Gateway, a tool that keeps team members protected from malware and other threats on the Internet
  • The Cloudflare Zero Trust Agent, the secure on-ramp for your traffic to the Internet.
  • Cloudflare Browser Isolation, the Internet’s fastest browser isolation technology

Each of those products use Cloudflare’s network to secure and accelerate connections. That puts Cloudflare for Teams in a position to solve a serious problem for all of our customers in each of these use cases - securing the data in those connections.

Customers previously relied on backhauling traffic to dedicated, on-premise or cloud-hosted, appliances to scan for data leaving their organization. These solutions were clunky, expensive, and slowed down users. Cloudflare’s Data Loss Prevention (DLP) platform delivers improved security without compromising performance. Connections are accelerated through Cloudflare’s network and inspected for sensitive data - without the latency of a backhaul.

Cloudflare’s DLP product will help customers of any size protect the data that powers their business. Whether credit card numbers, health records, trade secrets or other types of data, Cloudflare’s solution lets organizations focus on their business and stop worrying about applying bandaids to protect their data. The solution runs in-line with Cloudflare Access, Cloudflare Gateway and Cloudflare Browser - layering Zero Trust access control and web filtering as part of a defense-in-depth approach to data security.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join our team. You will recruit and lead a team of passionate, talented engineers that are building innovative products that bring security and speed to millions of internet users each day. You will play an active part in shaping product strategy based on what’s technically possible. You will make sure our company hits our ambitious goals from an engineering standpoint.

You bring a passion for meeting business needs with building technically innovative solutions, and excel at shifting between the two—understanding how big-picture goals inform technical details, and vice-versa. You thrive in a fast-paced iterative engineering environment and have experience delivering scalable distributed systems. Most importantly, you will have a track record of having past teams respect you as both a technical leader and manager.

  • Experience leading a team
  • Excel at planning and overseeing execution to meet commitments and deliver with predictability
  • Solid foundation in computer science and software engineering with strong competencies in software design, and building distributed systems
  • Demonstrate a track record of managing a team including hiring, on-boarding, and professional development
  • You inspire your team to reach higher. You’re as good as explaining “why” as you are “how”
  • Experience implementing tools, process, internal instrumentation, methodologies and resolving blockages
  • Comfortable managing teams/projects with tight deadlines and short release cycles

This is available publicly for everyone to use - it is the first consumer-focused service Cloudflare has ever released. Here’s the deal - we don’t store client IP addresses never, ever.
