Managers within Technology at Nordstrom help create an inspiring workplace where talented people are empowered to drive amazing customer experiences and business results. Through broad industry and practice knowledge and hands-on technical management experience, the Manager guides a team of professionals to execute strategy and tactics that deliver desired results.
Nearly a year ago, we began our journey to transform our approach to data and analytics from a batch-centric platform with siloed data marts, to our Nordstrom Analytical Platform (NAP), a real-time, event-streaming-centric, analytical platform that provides high quality, pre-stitched 360 views of our customers, products, inventory, customer service, fulfilment/logistics, and credit. The Nordstrom data team designs, develops and maintains software applications and services that support all of Data Engineering and Analytics business needs to drive the Nordstrom Omni channel experiences. This opportunity also provides various avenues to collaborate and influence several other platforms within Nordstrom Technology and have a company-wide impact - both business and engineering. Data Analytics is a strategic focus area for the company. Over the next year we will be focused on data integration across all Nordstrom brands to create a holistic view of the customer & products, enabling us to personalize their experience and engagement with Nordstrom to reflect their unique preferences and style. Delivering real-time data will be central to ensuring that they receive only the most relevant information and have a seamless online and offline experience.
We are seeking an Engineering Manager to guide the launch, growth, and delivery of DAS - Credit and Payments team powered by Nordstrom Analytics Platform. The team's mission is to support the migration of Credit and Payment analytics to Nordstrom Analytics Platform. The challenges include dealing with large datasets, owning, and delivering enablement of new business functionalities working with various partners in the company. The position provides opportunity to drive strategy and vision as we enable analytics for Credit and Payments. The ideal candidate is passionate about creating a data driven culture and finding innovative solutions to challenging business problems.
In this role, you will work closely with the Senior Engineering Manager, Technical Program Manager, and Product Owner to design, build, and support DAS - Credit and Payments roadmap. You will own technical solutions that comply with Nordstrom's engineering standards while applying Site Reliability Engineering principles. You will be responsible for recruiting and hiring talent as well as coaching and mentoring your team members in their career.
