The Spotify Core Infrastructure tribe is looking for an Engineering Manager to join our leadership team and manage one of our engineering teams. The responsibilities include supervising delivery for the team, help engineers with professional development and contribute to our technology strategy. We’ve been working on making our network more reliable, more self service for backend engineers, cost effective and multi-cloud. 

As an engineering manager at Spotify your primary responsibility is to the people you support: ensuring that they are growing as engineers, doing valuable work and generally having a great time at Spotify. As a lead for strong engineers in R&D, technical leadership and a solid background in technology and cloud networking is a must, so that you’re able to challenge and grow your team members. You will have the opportunity to influence the culture, facilitate technical delivery and work with your team on strategy and execution.

What you'll do

• Develop the people in the team through coaching, mentoring and management
• Drive and be accountable for technical delivery and work with your team on strategy and execution
• Facilitate collaboration with other engineers and product managers in solving interesting and challenging problems across the platform
• Advocate and advance modern, agile software development practices and help develop and evangelize great engineering and organizational practices.
• Grow the technical expertise of your team

Who you are

• You believe in transformational leadership and bottom-up culture, invested in developing both great engineers and great teams
• You have a strong and proven engineering background
• You are passionate and have experience in leading, managing, coaching or mentoring software developers towards delivering timely, high quality software with them
• You have solid experience working in an agile development environment

• Working hours? We operate within the Eastern Standard time zone for collaboration and ask that all be located that time zone.
