Job Purpose:
Responsible for developing test programs, directing tests, and analyzing test results. Communicates results and make recommendations to design engineering and management.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Interacts with other engineering groups to define, document, analyze, perform, and interpret tests for products, systems, components, or modifications.
- Identifies functional problems and suggests resolutions.
- Defines internal quality control standards and the maintenance of reliability programs.
- Documents and analyzes test cases and provides feedback and recommendations for product or design changes.
- Ensures testing procedures are in compliance with any required industry specific standards.
- Contributes to the development of improvements to overall testing and quality programs for improved results.
- May coordinate with vendors or suppliers to modify or develop testing for components or other parts.
- Responsible for assisting and/or leading test program development. Directs tests and analyzes test results.
- Communicates results and recommendations to design engineering; electrical engineering; and management personnel.
Job Qualifications:
- B.S. Degree from an ABET accredited Mechanical, Electrical, or Aeronautical Engineering program or Masters Degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical or Agricultural Engineering from a university with an ABET accredited undergraduate engineering program
- Additional education in Software or Mechatronics Engineering desirable
- A minimum of four to seven years engineering experience. Skilled as an experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices
- Preferred experience with off road equipment or automotive test system development using Labview RT, FPGA, TestStand, and VeriStand products or equivalent test systems
- Experience with hydraulic systems desired
- Ability to transfer Design development skills and knowledge from past experience to new situations
- Ability to influence technology plans, assert own ideas and persuade others
- Has efficiently utilized project management tools and has demonstrated ability to lead projects
Other Job Related Components:
- Travel to test sites, vendors, manufacturing facilities, customers and others, as required.
- Give work direction to test technicians or drafters.
- May act as a technical lead, influencing direction on a major project.
