Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for HW and SW development in support of mNAND System Validation activities, including but not limited to new system bringup, system failure triage support, system-level characterization, new HW pathfinding, SW support for HW tools, and experimentation as requested. You will be running and configuring diagnostic software, designing experiments, analyzing and interpreting data, creating custom tools, and presenting data to customers inside Micron. To accomplish these responsibilities, you will use a variety of equipment (oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, logic analyzers, signal generators, multi-meters, etc...). You will collaborate with other engineers within mNAND System Validation, mNAND Design Engineering, Application Engineering, Product Engineering, and other teams throughout Micron.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
HW and SW Development to support mNAND System Validation

  • Design and develop HW, SW, and processes for System Validation engineering to enhance validation execution and testing capabilities to contribute to the goal of being Best In Class
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define, create, validate, and modify HW that controls test parameters (i.e., temperature or voltage)
  • Create, validate, and modify test scripts and code based on customer usage, new feature introduction, and new specification introduction
  • Monitor project status and results for HW and SW projects - communicating benefits, schedule milestones, risk, and mitigation in a timely manner
  • Create and document new HW information and test procedures
  • Enable new systems for system validation usage, including relevant documentation for specific rework, root access, and usage
  • Participate in cross-functional issue triage emanating from system validation testing
  • Perform system characterization using SW, protocol analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other tools to understand memory usage
  • Interface customer diagnostics with pre-existing automation scheme
  • Analyze, compile, and communicate results


Qualifications:
Successful candidates for this exciting opportunity will have

  • Effective communication skills in written and spoken English
  • Circuit/Logic design coursework
  • Programming and scripting experience: C++, Python, Perl, etc.
  • Experience with embedded environments, including Android based platforms
  • Experience in the storage industry in SSD, HDD, Storage Systems, or a related technology
  • Understanding of storage interfaces, including ideally eMMC, UFS, PCIe/NVMe, SATA, or SAS
  • Experience with NAND Flash and other Non-Volatile storage
  • Experience working in a multi-functional team and the ability to work well with others
  • Good multitasking and organizational skills under the pressure of multiple priorities
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Self-motivation and enthusiasm
  • Ability to delegate tasks and set priorities in a team environment
  • Work experience in related field through co-op, internship, or projects is a plus


Education:

  • Position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechatronics Engineering
  • Course work in microelectronics, embedded design, PCB design and layout, and programming languages is desirable, but not required
