About the Role:

The Engineer II will be responsible for the management of the dedicated fiber build required for Wholesale and Enterprise special circuit orders. The Engineer will be responsible for obtaining weekly updates from the Outside Plant Engineering teams and providing those updates to the Service Delivery project coordinators via NGMSS and/email as required. The Engineer will also be responsible for adding the specific fiber details into NGMSS and closing the tasks assigned to OSP.

What You'll Do:

  • Design and assign moderately complex Outside Plant facilities to support special circuit installation, modifications, and upgrades
  • Be responsible for Metasolv (ASAP NGMSS, etc) tasks associated with special circuit orders
  • Manage requests and projects relating to Outside Plant fiber builds, to ensure projects are created in Quickbase, milestones, and SLAs are met, clear and timely updates are provided to both internal and external candidates.
  • Work on problems of complex scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors and will work closely with OSP Field Engineering on orders requiring construction to support the ordered product

  • Understanding of telecommunications industry
  • Knowledge of accepted engineering practices
  • Knowledge of aerial and buried cable placement and splicing methods, copper and fiber
  • Knowledge of feeder and distribution cable pair design
  • Intermediate skills utilizing: MIROR and JobTrac,
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of accounting procedures
  • Utilize ASAP, GComms, MIROR, and Job Trac databases

Minimum Requirements:

College degree and 2-4 years related experience or 6 + years equivalent related Engineering/Technical experience or a combination of education and related Engineering/Technical experience required.
