Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with product management to understand business requirements and plan products and features
- Design and develop data pipelines and integrations from business requirements
- Implement our core data platform services
- Aid in code reviews for fellow team members, as required
- Create unit tests to help ensure code quality throughout the application's life cycle
- Accountable for continuous improvement in data integration projects
- Collaborate with application and business stakeholders to ensure high-quality product is developed and deployed in production
- Basic knowledge of our Cloud Platforms to provide support and escalation issues
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL (or other major relational database) and SQL
- Advanced knowledge of one of the major public cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Advanced programming experience in Python or other object-oriented programming languages
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree preferred; may consider relevant experience in lieu of a degree
- 5 years' experience in data engineering with a degree; 8 years' experience in data engineering in lieu of a degree
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience with any data development platform (RedPoint, DataStage, SSIS, SAS)
- Experience working with healthcare specific data exchange formats including HL7 and FHIR
- Experience implementing secure techniques related to Regulatory Compliance (SOC2, HiTrust, HIPAA)
- Experience with various messaging systems, such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
Work Conditions:
- Corporate office/lab environment or work from home (EST)
- Ability to travel, if required (post covid).
